GA Archives To Stay Open

In a surprise announcement made on Wednesday during  his "Georgia Archives Month" proclamation, Governor Nathan Deal announced that the  Georgia State Archives Building, located in Morrow, GA, would not close to the public on November 1st as had been previously announced.   While the announcement was welcome news, there was no mention as to exactly how the budgetary problem would be resolved.

Georgia State Archives Building To Be Closed To The Public

The Georgia State Archives Building, located in Morrow, GA, will be closed to the public beginning November 1, 2012 in order to help meet required budget cuts. After November 1st, public access to the building will be by appointment only and the number of appointments may be limited.
