"Genealogy Roadshow"

“Genealogy Roadshow,” a new fall offering on PBS, premiers Monday, September 23rd at 9 p.m.  It combines history and science to uncover an individual’s past.  

This new series will consist of stories of persons from four American cities (Nashville, TN, Austin, TX, Detroit, MI and San Francisco, CA) “...who want to explore unverified genealogical claims, passed down through family history, that may (or may not) connect them to an event or a historical figure.”  

The series concludes Monday, October 14.

Making Sense of the American Civil War, 1861-1865

Chapin Memorial Library will be the site for a lecture series about the American Civil War. The first of five sessions will be held on January 16, 2013 with the final session to be held February 13, 2013. Lecture times are 10:30 a.m. to noon preceded by a coffee and fellowship period.
