Free Record Access

In connection with the July 4th holiday, some genealogical sites are offering free short-term access to their Revolutionary War records.


Fold3.com is making available through July 15 access to its Revolutionary War records including:
  • Revolutionary War Pension Files
  • Revolutionary War Service Records
  • Bounty Land Warrants
  • Revolutionary War Muster Rolls
Ancestry.com is making available through July 8 access to its Revolutionary War records including:

  • U.S. Sons of American Revolution Membership Applications, 1889 -1970
  • Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage Books
  • Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files, 1800-1900

Additionally, Ancestry is making available access to its "Historical Newspapers, Birth, Marriage and Death Announcements, 1851-2003."
